PHÚC LỢI CHO MÌNH VÀ CHO NGƯỜI KHÁC  

“Này các tỳ khưu, thành tựu năm pháp này, vị tỳ-khưu tu tập đem lại phúc lợi cho mình và phúc lợi cho người khác. Thế nào là năm? (1) Ở đây, vị tỳ-khưu tự mình thành tựu đầy đủ giới hạnh, khuyến khích người khác thành tựu đầy đủ giới hạnh; (2) tự mình thành tựu đầy đủ thiền định, khuyến khích người khác thành tựu đầy đủ thiền định; (3) tự mình thành tựu đầy đủ trí tuệ, khuyến khích người khác thành tựu đầy đủ trí tuệ; (4) tự mình thành tựu đầy đủ giải thoát, khuyến khích người khác thành tựu đầy đủ giải thoát; (5) tự mình thành tựu đầy đủ tri kiến về giải thoát, khuyến khích người khác thành tựu đầy đủ tri kiến về giải thoát.

Thành tựu năm pháp như thế, vị tỳ-khưu đem lại phúc lợi cho mình và phúc lợi cho người khác.

FOR ONE’S OWN WELFARE AND FOR THE WELFARE OF OTHERS.

“Bhikkhus, possessing five qualities, a bhikkhu is practicing both for his own welfare and for the welfare of others. What five? (1) Here, a bhikkhu is himself accomplished in virtuous behavior and encourages others to become accomplished in virtuous behavior; (2) he is himself accomplished in concentration and encourages others to become accomplished in concentration; (3) he is himself accomplished in wisdom and encourages others to become accomplished in wisdom; (4) he is himself accomplished in liberation and encourages others to become accomplished in liberation; (5) he is himself accomplished in the knowledge and vision of liberation and encourages others to become accomplished in the knowledge and vision of liberation.
